Romanian fest honors Iranian ‘Zohreh’

Iranian feature film ‘Zohreh’ has been awarded at the International Festival of TV Broadcasters and Independent Producers - SIMFEST in Romania.

The best Fiction Film prize of the Romanian event’s 17th edition was given to the Iranian flick, directed by Siamak Ebrahimi.

‘Zohreh’ is about the very final hours of a sportswoman before her immigration.

Melisa Zakeri, Sajjad Babaee, Soroush Taheri, Faranak Moradi and Alireza Shariati are some of the cast members of the film.

The flick has already been screened at a number of global fests, including the Durban International Film Festival in South Africa. 

The SIMFEST is a TV festival – competition and the only one of this kind in Romania and among a few in Europe.  It is a complex manifestation for electronic mass media and the annual meeting point of TV specialists across the globe, as well as students, independent producers and media enthusiasts.

Iranian documentary ‘Beloved’ was also picked as the recipient of the grand prize of the SIMFEST, which was held on September 14-20, 2020.
