‘Slow and Sluggish’ to vie at Estonian fest

Iranian documentary ‘Slow and Sluggish’ has been selected to compete at the 34th edition of the Pärnu International Documentary and Science Film Festival in Estonia.

Directed by Delavar Doustanian, the documentary focuses on the life of two snails. Instead of narration, the director uses music to depict the life of its only characters, the snails.

In an interview about his work, Doustanian said, “we think that animals are each other’s enemies, but that’s not the case. At the end of the documentary, you will see that animals’ real enemy is man”.

One of the main themes of the Pärnu Film Festival is to preserve indigenous people and their cultures. The festival presents audiovisual interpretations of contemporary society.

The 34th edition of the event is slated for October 12-25, 2020.
