Hosseini was awarded for his role in ‘Labyrinth’ directed by Amir-Hossein Torabi.
The film also succeeded to garner the best director, best film and best screenplay awards at the 13th edition of the IFF San Francisco.
‘Labyrinth’ narrates the story of a father who has lost his child and he is now looking for his trace everywhere around.
He lets the police know about the predicament which brings some other people inside the story too.
“Life is like a complicated labyrinth. Everybody is searching a way to escape this labyrinth but there is just one exit and you cannot find it unless you reach the center”, reads as a brief synopsis of the flick.
Launched in 2008, the IFF is an annual event showcasing independent feature and short films made by or about Iranians from around the world.
It is the first independent Iranian film festival outside Iran.
The 13th edition of the festival was held on September 19-20, 2020.
