New Iranian historical series ‘Salman the Persian’ has employed the filming location of Majid Majidi's historical blockbuster 'Muhammad: The Messenger of God'.
The series directed by prominent Iranian filmmaker Davoud Mirbaqeri kicked off shooting last winter in Kerman province and Qeshm Island- both located in Iran.
Noor Cinema Town, which was the filming location of 'Muhammad: The Messenger of God' in Qom Province, is currently hosting the cast and crew of the historical series 'Salman the Persian' under strict health protocols to prevent the transmission of the novel coronavirus.
This comes as the shooting schedule of the series in Turkey and Armenia was canceled because of the Corona pandemic. The production team decided to do the filming in Iran with the help of visual effects.
Mirbaqeri’s biopic covers the life of one of Prophet Mohammad’s (PBUH) closest companions, Salman the Persian, from adolescence until the prophet’s death. The shooting is predicted to take place within a five-year time bracket.
Alireza Shojanouri stars as Salman and Farhad Aslani plays the role of a businessman in the series. Ali Dehkordi, Changiz Jalilvand and Mohammad-Reza Hedayati will also appear in this series.
