Making the animation, the director Maryam Kashkoulinia was inspired by a book with the same title written by Sousan Taqdis.
Although the animation targets 7-12 year-old children, the director believes that it has a lesson for adults too.
‘The Eleventh Step’ focuses on the themes of freedom and captivity; and it indirectly persuades children to try more.
Watching the animation, the child realizes that he or she can gain marvelous results by taking one more step forward.
The animation was previously screened at some international festivals, including the International Children’s Film Festival – Cinekid in the Netherlands, the Korea Independent Animation Film Festival in South Korea, the Zlin Film Festival in the Czech Republic, the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France, and the Supertoon International Animation Festival in Croatia.
The five-day ANIMAFILM aims to delight the local and foreign audiences by showcasing animated films for children and adults.
The event is slated for October 14-18, 2020.
