‘Inner Self’ makes entry to Serbian fest

A short film from Iran titled ‘Inner Self’ has been listed in the 2020 official selection of the International Short Film Fesitval – Film Front in Serbia.

Directed by Mohammad Hormozi, the 15-minute short fiction will be participating in the competition program of the 18th edition of the Serbian event, set for October 29 – November 1.

‘Inner Self’ follows the story of a female violinist who wants to enter an office but as she is not attired appropriately for the place, she must stay in the waiting room. While waiting, she is inspired by the things that happen around her there.

Niloufar Mohebbi, Mehrbanou Batebbi and Maryam Jamalipour are the cast members of the short.

‘Inner Self’ has so far competed in a number of international film events, including the Grand Off film festival in Poland, the 30th Mediawave Int’l Film Festival in Hungary and the Dhaka Int’l Film Festival in Bangladesh.

The film is also the winner of a special mention at the 16th Akbank Short Film Festival in Turkey.

The goal of the Film Front is to promote young filmmakers and their auteur’s expression. It also provides an opportunity for the audience to take a look at the achievements in the production of short films from around the world.

The winner of the Serbia/region selection is chosen by the professional jury, whereas the audience votes for the winner of International selection.
