Iranian short film ‘The Lock’ has been awarded at the Blackbird Film Festival in the US.
The Iranian Youth Cinema Society reported that ‘The Lock’, written and directed by Ali Javan, received the Sneaky Twist Award at the American festival.
The film is about Bahram who was lost in unfamiliar streets while he and his son were looking for a clinic where his wife is waiting for them.
Founded in 2015, the Blackbird Film Festival “celebrates and supports independent filmmakers from around the world”, the event’s website reads.
It strives to “curate an inclusive festival atmosphere - an environment where experienced professionals and first-time filmmakers can strike up a conversation and perhaps take something away from one another.”
