'White Winged Horse' to be showcased at Polish fest

Iranian short flick 'White Winged Horse' is to take its chance at the competition lineup of the 2020 International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography EnergaCAMERIMAGE in Poland.

Mahyar Mandegar’s ‘White Winged Horse’ will be in the running at the “Talent Demo” category of the 28st edition of the Camerimage festival, set for November 14-21, 2020.

The “Talent Demo” is an educational event designed for students and aspiring filmmakers to have a chance to present their projects to industry professionals and discuss the further direction of their projects.

This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Talent Demo session will be held in a hybrid form, just like the festival itself.

'White Winged Horse' is about a man returning to his Iranian hometown, which was destroyed in the war 20 years ago. He is searching for his childhood sweetheart who had promised him eternal love – if he were to return as a white-winged horse. Past and present overlap in the poetic memory and imagination of the boy he once was.

Mandegar is the winner of a special mention at the Generation section (14plus) of the 70th Berlin International Film Festival in Germany. His film was described by the jury panel of the Berlinale as a film that uses the audience’s imagination to build an exceptional world.

On September 2020, the flick also went on screen at the Oscar-qualifying Tirana Film Festival (TIFF) in Albania.

In November 2-8, 2020, 'White Winged Horse' will also enter the 21st Izmir International Short Film Festival in Turkey.

The International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography EnergaCAMERIMAGE helps young filmmakers explore new artistic areas.
