‘Careless Crime’ to vie in Tokyo

Tokyo FILMex International Film Festival in Japan is to host Iranian movie ‘Careless Crime’.

Shahram Mokri’s latest flick will vie at the competition section of the 2020 edition of the festival.

Produced by Negar Eskandarfar (A Separation), the 134-minute feature is about four men in modern-day Iran who plan to burn down a movie theater, an act that replicates a historical tragedy that occurred 40 years ago during the uprising to overthrow the Pahlavi regime.

Babak Karimi, Razieh Mansouri, and Abolfazl Kahani star as the cast members of the film.

The Tokyo FILMex presents the Japanese audience the unique and creative cinema from Asia and around the world.

The festival provides filmmakers and guests with opportunities for constructive exchange with Japanese film industry professionals and the local audience.
