Barcelona to host Iran flick

Reza Mirkarimi’s ‘Castle of Dreams’ is slated to vie at the Asian Film Festival Barcelona 2020 in Spain.

The film will represent Iran alongside 17 other Iranian films at the Spanish event currently underway.

Having 29 international screenings, ‘Castle of Dreams’ has so far won 22 awards and nominations at various international film festivals in Spain, UK, United Arab Emirates, Italy, Bangladesh, Turkey, Czech Republic, China, Russia, Iraq, Canada and Georgia.

‘Castle of Dreams’ is about Jalal Moradi, a 42-year-old father of two, who kills a relative in an accident, but he was released after it was considered as an accidental killing without intent.

After getting out of prison, Jalal leaves his wife and kids and moves to another city.

When the mother of the kids dies, Jalal returns to his hometown, but he still does not want to be with the children.

The film stars Hamed Behdad and Zhila Shahi.

The Asian Film Festival Barcelona is the gateway to Asian cinema in Spain. It aims to bring the high quality narrative art of the Asian continent to the Spanish public, making it a place of gathering and dialogue of multiple cultures.

This year's edition of the event that started on October 28, will go on until November 8, 2020 in Barcelona.
