The 39th edition of the Fajr Film Festival (FFF) in Iran may be postponed over coronavirus pandemic.
Mohammad Mehdi Tabatabaee-nejad, the secretary of the 39th edition of the event, told the media that the festival may be held on spring 2021.
He noted that, “No definite decision had been made so far, but we try our best to launch it on time.”
“However, there's the possibility of launching the festival a few months later, in concurrent with the international version of the event," he added.
The FFF coincides with the ten-day Fajr ceremonies across Iran, marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
Since its establishment in 1982, the FFF has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.
Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran every year.
