Karimi, whose latest appearance has been in ‘Careless Crime’, will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 26th MedFilm Festival, the public relations team of the film announced on Saturday.
Shahram Mokri’s ‘Careless Crime’, featuring Karimi, will also be screened at the competition program of the MedFilm event along with 11 other films.
The Iranian-Italian actor and film editor, Karimi, will attend the screening session of the film to introduce ‘Careless Crime’ and receive his award.
He will also attend a master class in collaboration with the Italian Institute for Oriental Studies of the Sapienza University on November 13.
From 2004 to 2007, Karimi has been a consultant of the Venice Film Festival particularly in selecting Iranian films for the festival.
He was also part of the Italy Prospects Jury at the 7th Rome Film Festival in 2012.
Established in 1995, the MedFilm Festival is the only festival in Italy dedicated to promoting the circulation of European and Mediterranean Cinema.
It seeks to raise young people’s awareness and understanding of social-cultural issues.
The 2020 edition of the event will be held on November 4-13.
