Iranian actress Sepideh Khodaverdi has been cast to play the role of an assassinated nuclear scientist's wife in a new series directed by Hossein Tabrizi.

Mostafa Elmifard, the producer of the series, announced that Sepideh Khodaverdi has recently been selected to play the wife of Iranian nuclear scientist Majid Shahriari, who was assassinated by the US and Israel-backed terrorists in 2010.

The shooting of the series has already begun with the scenes depicting Shahriari’s childhood and early youth filmed in the Iranian city of Zanjan.

The producer of the series noted that the exact name of the series, which is currently being filmed in Tehran, has not been determined yet, adding that the show will likely be named ‘Martyr Shahriari’.

The series will reportedly be comprised of 30 episodes, each will be 45 minutes.
