Exground screen to touch Iran’s ‘Fibula’

The 2020 edition of the Exground Film Festival in Germany has been set to screen Iranian short flick ‘Fibula’.

Directed by Davoud Rezaee, the 15-minute film will be screened in the Persian language with English subtitles. This is the world premiere of the flick.

The festival’s website writes on the story of the Iranian short film, “Ismail is an unemployed man and has to provide the living for his mother and brother. How far would he go to get the money?”

Dedicating a special section to Iranian short films, the Exground filmfest’s website writes, “For years now, short films from Iran have been an integral part of the program at Exground filmfest. In 2020, we’re showing five of them: two world premieres, an international premiere, a European premiere and a first screening in Germany. The works feature a visit to a prison, another in a night club, a duel in the mountains, a hunt for body parts, and a failed escape from an eldercare facility."

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 edition of the Exground Film Festival is scheduled to go hybrid. So the viewers can attend the festival or watch films from their homes.

The festival aims to provide a space for the audience and cineastes to meet. This year, it will present more than 120 productions.

The 33rd edition of the event will be held on November 13-22, 2020.
