‘American Bull’ wins at US fest

Iranian short flick ‘American Bull’ has garnered the Best Narrative Short Award at the 10th edition of the Alrington International Film Festival (AIFF) in the US.

Directed by Fatemeh Tousi, the 14-minute film narrates the story of a young boy named Saheb who lives in a village near the border between Iran and Iraq.

Saheb owns a bull and is dependent on it for earning a living.

The film has been screened at a number of international festivals, including the 65th Oberhausen International Short Film Festival in Germany, the 27th Sguardi Altrove international women’s film festival in Italy, the 2019 Sapporo Short Film Festival in Japan, and the 2019 International Amateur Film Festival of Kelibia in Tunisia.

The AIFF provides a space for all cultures to be presented and promotes an understanding of the various cultures.

Talented filmmakers and local high school students have a unique opportunity to present their works at the festival.

The 2020 edition of the event was held on November 5-15.
