Iran animation ‘Malayz’ to vie in Italy

Iranian short animation ‘Malayz’ has been selected to compete at the 17th edition of the accordi @ Disaccordi International Film Festival in Italy.

The short animation is co-produced and co-directed by Leila Ahang, Sara Hanif, Maryam Alavi, and Marziyeh Kordlou.

The 2-minute flick is about a nervous, naughty fish called Moslem.

He is resting when a luminous ring drops down and wakes him up. Moslem gets angry and roars at the ring.

The glow of the ring catches his eye, making him get it.

"His name is Moslem, the angriest fish ever. Don't let his cute sleepy face deceive you," a tagline of the short film reads.

‘Malayz’ has gone on screen at some global events, including the International Animation Film Festival - Golden Kuker Sofia in Bulgaria and the Eastern Nigeria Film Festival.

The Italian festival accordi @ Disaccordi aims to unite the nations through the language of short film.

This edition of the event will host 127 short films from 27 countries to compete in six sections.

The 2020 edition of the event will be held online on November 10-21.
