Turkish fest to show Iran’s ‘Namo’

Iranian feature ‘Namo’ has been scheduled to go on screen at the 10th edition of the International Crime and Punishment Film Festival in Turkey.

Being Nader Saeevar’s directorial debut, the film is one the eight titles to be showcased at the International Golden Scale Feature Film Competition section of the Turkish event.

‘Namo’ is about two strangers who begin to park their car in an ordinary Iranian neighborhood. They are suspected to be cops in disguise.

Their presence in the area cause paranoia and distrust among the residents, as each feels they have reasons to be watched.

Bakhtiyar Panjehee, Sevil Shirgir, Nader Mehdilou, Nasser Hashemi, Hadi Eftekharzadeh, Firouz Aqeli, and Tara Aqajani form the cast list of the flick.

The Arthood Entertainment film company is in charge of the film’s marketing and distribution.

‘Namo’ (The Alien) has already participated in a number of global events, including the Berlin International Film festival in Germany and the Hong Kong International Film Festival in China.

According to the official website of the event, the International Crime and Punishment Film Festival aims to “improve social awareness by communicating the repercussion of the relationship between crime and justice in cinema, contribute to social change by increasing communication, solidarity and cooperation, popularize the sense of equality and encourage people about it.”

The 2020 edition of the fest is slated for November 20-26 in Istanbul.
