Animated project on Persian national legend ‘Arash the Archer’ is in development, the animation director says.
Gholam-Reza Azadi whose cinematic projects mainly cater for children and young adults was quoted by the domestic media on Friday as saying that ‘Arash the Archer’ animation is his next project in the pipeline after animated film ‘Sinbad and Sara’ which is ready to attend a film festival in Iran.
The director noted the animation on the Persian legend will be produced in 3D as a live-action/animated hybrid, adding Iranian directors should highlight the deroes depicted in ‘The Shahnameh’ authored by world-famous Persian poet Fredowsi.
Arash is a heroic archer of the Persian mythology who sacrificed his life for the glory of Iran. The legendary Persian hero demarcated the frontier between Iran and the neighboring kingdom of mythical Turan by shooting an arrow from the peak of Mt. Damavand which is Iran's highest mountain located northeast of Tehran.
