Iran’s ‘113’ to vie at Visioni Corte

The 2020 edition of the Visioni Corte Film Festival in Italy has been set to screen Iranian short flick ‘113’.

Directed by Neda Assef, the 8-minute film will compete at the Germogli Di Cinema section of the Italian event.

“In a military base conference room, soldier 113 falls asleep out of fatigue. When he wakes up, things have gone out of control,” a brief synopsis of ‘113’ reads.

Ali Pouya-Qasemi, Ali Nasir, Farid Yousefi, Majid Moqimi, Amir Moqimi, and Vahid Seddiqzadeh are the cast members of the short flick.

‘113’ has so far gone on screen at some global events, including the Busho Budapest Short International Film Festival in Hungary and the Reading Film Festival in the US, where Pouya-Qasemi won the award for the best actor in a short film.

Launched in 2012, the Visioni Corte International Short Film Festival is a film contest in the beautiful Gulf of Gaeta in Italy. The movies are shown in the historical Ariston Theatre.

Created by movie lovers and aimed at all the authors and filmmakers of independent short films that do not work for large film distribution companies, its main goal is to spread the talent of so many filmmakers who are passionate about the film world, embracing different fields to allow the freedom of interpretation and creativity on the part of emerging authors.

The 2020 edition of the Visioni Corte will be held on November 26-December 5.
