The Euroshorts Young Filmmakers International Film Festival in Poland has been scheduled to host Iranian short flick ‘Simulation of Mr. Yellow’.
Directed by Mahan Khomamipour, the 17-minute documentary will be presented at the 29th edition of the Polish event.
A synopsis of ‘Simulation of Mr. Yellow’ reads, “A journalist (Shahrzad) who travels to her motherland to make reports for the media in Aleppo, a city which is destroyed in the war, she meets an old Man dressed all in yellow. She gets interested in the yellow man and wants to make a report about him, but the yellow man doesn’t talk at all. So, Shahrzad starts searching for the true story of this old man in the whispering of a war-torn city.”
‘Simulation of Mr. Yellow’ is a documentary on love and how it makes a man go unaware of whatever might happen around him.
Set in war-stricken Syria, a man always wears yellow garments hoping that his beloved will recognize him among the demolished walls of the city.
But she never shows up and the man must practice his ritual every single day.
‘Simulation of Mr. Yellow’ has so far gone on screen at some global events, including the Riga International Short Film Festival in Latvia and the Sheffield Short Film Festival in the UK, where it was nominated for the Best Documentary award.
Founded in 1992, the Euroshorts aims to promote and support young artists.
The 2020 edition of the event is slated for November 30-December 6.
