Acclaimed Iranian actress Niki Karimi, also known as the Bride of Iranian Cinema' for her breakout role in 'The Bride', plays a main role in ifilm series 'Kimia' as Mahboubeh who is Shahram's (Mehdi Soltani) wife.

Karimi, 49, is famous for her movies 'The Bride' and 'Sara', which brought her awards at international festivals.

She also worked as a director, making a documentary named 'To Have or not to Have' in 2001, which was awarded at Iran's Rain Film Festival.

In 2004, she made her first feature film 'One Night', which was screened in numerous international film festivals such as the Cannes Film Festival in France.

Karimi served as a juror at several renowned film festivals, including the Berlin Film Festival and the 60th Cannes Film Festival and the 57th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival in Turkey.

She has appeared in several TV series and movies, including 'Women Are Angels' and 'Hot Chocolate', and managed to gain various awards.

Karimi is also an acting coach and a translator. Her first published work was 'Songs My Mother Taught Me', an autobiography of Marlon Brando.
