‘Suddenly a Tree’ gets copyright protect

Iranian feature film ‘Suddenly a Tree’ has gotten copyright protection in the US.

Safi Yazdanian’s feature film, to be offered on video-on-demand (VoD) services soon, has obtained copyright registration from the Washington DC. Library in the US to protect its screening rights internationally.

‘Suddenly a Tree’ is set during the time period of Iraq-Iran war, when Farhad gets arrested for an illegal attempt to immigrate.

Being released after some years, he decides to go after the love of his life, Mahtab.

The whole story of Farhad’s life is recounted as he talks to his psychiatrist about his childhood and adulthood.

Peyman Maadi, Zohreh Abbasi, Siamak Safari, Shaqayeq Dehqan, Mehrab Qasemkhani, Pantea Panahiha, and Arman Moradi are on the cast list of the flick.

The film was nominated for Best Supporting Actress and Best Soundtrack at the 37th Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

It has gone on screen at global events such as the 24th Busan International Film Festival in South Korea and the 2019 Persian Film Festival in Australia.
