Directed by Abolfazl Talouni, the documentary depicts an old couple who leave Tehran for their hometown located close to Iran-Turkey border.
Their dream of living in their hometown after retirement is ruined when they realize that their beloved destination has changed to an illegal gate for smuggling goods to Europe.
The crew of the documentary includes Mehdi Azadi, Ahmad Afshar, Mohsen Moradi, and Hessam Eslami.
Azadi, the cinematographer of the project, won the Golden Frog-Grand Prix at the 28th EnergaCAMERIMAGE International Film Festival in Poland.
The GZDOC aims to bring the best of international documentaries to the local audience.
It also includes interviews and conferences and creates a space for attendees to exchange knowledge.
The 2020 edition of the event is slated for December 14-17.
