'The Wasteland' wins at Croatia

Iranian flick 'The Wasteland' has won an award at the Subversive Film Festival in Croatia.

Ahmad Bahrami's second directorial experience has grabbed the best film award at the 2020 edition of the event.

The film represented Iran at the main competition section of the 13th edition of the festival.

'The Wasteland' has previously received the best film award at the Horizons section of 77th Venice International Film Festival in Italy.

‘The Wasteland’ tells the story of a lonely man who works as a supervisor in a bricklaying factory as a go-between. The owner of the factory once brings together all the workers and tells them something that changes their lives.

‘The Wasteland’ has recently been screened at the 2020 annual Tokyo International Film Festival in Japan and the 2020 Stockholm International Film Festival in Sweden.

Established in 2011, the Subversive Film Festival runs in two competition categories of the contemporary European and international films.

This year’s edition of the festival was held on November 29 to December 05, 2020.
