Directed by Mostafa Rostampour, the short flick is among the selected works to compete at the 3rd edition of the Japanese event.
‘Sheep Will Devour Us’ is about a woman named Tahereh, who is a victim of very young age marriage.
She, who has suffered the aftermath of such a tradition, is trying hard to avoid such a destiny for her younger sister.
The film has already been screened at a number of global events, including the Heritage film festival in the US, the Barcelona Human Rights Film Festival in Spain, and the Eastern Europe International Movie Awards in Turkey.
‘Gando’, directed by Teimour Qaderi, will also be screened at the Documentary Film section of the MEIHODO International Youth Visual Media Festival.
Founded in 2018, the Japanese festival is an independent visual media event sponsored by MEIHODO, a Japanese corporation, aiming to support young photographers worldwide. It is a grand exchange event for the exhibition and selection of works by young photographers.
This year’s edition of the festival is slated for December 23-30.
