Directed by Takefumi Tsutsui, the social drama will be among the 36 works to compete at the Cinema of the World section of the Bangladeshi filmfest.
‘New Moon Hotel’ tells the story of a woman and her daughter living a peaceful life until a man comes in between their harmonious life.
Tsutsui’s feature enjoys a string of Iranian and Japanese actors, including Mahnaz Afshar, Ali Shadman, Nasim Adabi, Laleh Marzban, Ayako Kobayashi, and Masatoshi Nagase.
Javad Norouzbeigi and Shohreh Golparian are the Iranian producers of the flick, which was premiered at the 37th Fajr International Film Festival in Iran.
Since 1977, the DIFF has been promoting a healthy culture in the film industry in Bangladesh with the main theme of ‘Better Film, Better Audience, Better Society’.
Some 200 films from 60 countries will compete at the DIFF in the following categories: Asian Competition Section, Retrospective, Bangladesh Panorama, Cinema of the World, Children’s Film, Short and Independent Film, Women Filmmakers Section, and Spiritual Films Section.
The 19th edition of the fest is slated for January 16-24, 2021.
