The section of the Bangladeshi event will screen 16 films, including five short and feature-length movies from Iran.
The selected feature films are ‘The Blue Girl’ by Keivan Majidi, ‘That Night’s Train’ by Hamid-Reza Qotbi, Mojgan Bayat’s ‘Born of the Earth’, and ‘The Ocean Behind the Window’ directed by Babak Nabizadeh.
One of the most applauded Iranian short films, ‘Gando’ directed by Teymour Qaderi, is the fifth film on the lineup.
Since 1977, the DIFF has been promoting a healthy culture in the film industry in Bangladesh with the main theme of ‘Better Film, Better Audience, Better Society’.
Some 200 films from 60 countries will compete at the DIFF in the following categories: Asian Competition Section, Retrospective, Bangladesh Panorama, Cinema of the World, Children’s Film, Short and Independent Film, Women Filmmakers Section, and Spiritual Films Section.
The 19th edition of the fest is slated for January 16-24, 2021.
