India awards Iran film

Iranian movie ‘Forty Seven’ has received two awards at the Lifft India Filmotsav.

The film co-directed by Ahmad Otraghchi and Alireza Tabrizi grabbed the awards for Best Cinematographer and Best Sound Designer at the 2020 edition of the event.

Themed on violence against women, the film is the story of three middle-aged women from various social classes who inadvertently affect each other's lives on the longest night of the year.

Ladan Mostofi, Mahdi Ahmadi, Sheida Khaligh, Rabe'e Madani, Rima Raminfar, Hamidreza Azarang, Shaghayegh Farahani and Mohamadreza Ghaffari star in the film.

The LIFFT India Filmotsav is a green event preserving the nature by keeping everything digital and avoiding paper use.

At the same time, the fest aims to “spread awareness about the menace of Dengue and Malaria along with other airborne disease that result from poor waste management and lack of basic cleanliness in parts of Lonavla that needs immediate attention”, according to the official website of the fest.

The fourth edition of the event was held on December 25, 2020.
