Calligraphy Dance, Silk Way Exhibition to host world calligraphists

Iranian National UNESCO Commission is to host the 2021 Virtual International Calligraphy Dance and Silk Way Exhibition from January 20 to 23.

The Iranian National UNESCO Commission has invited the world calligraphists to forward their arts works on the Silk Road to the secretariat of the Virtual International Calligraphy Dance and Silk Way Exhibition up to be held virtually in Iran on January.

According to the secretary general of the Iranian National UNESCO Commission Hojjatllah Ayyoubi, “Iran is the cradle for exalted arts, particularly calligraphy which is in fact our nation’s ID card and this commission attracted broad attention at the international scene.”

“A calligraphy exhibition on the sideline of the 6th Meeting of the International Silk Road Conference in Hamedan last year attracted the attention of all participating countries to that exalted art, because calligraphy is a shared art in all countries by the path of the Silk Way,” he added.

The Iranian city of Mashhad is the host to the Virtual International Calligraphy Dance and Silk Way Exhibition this year.

Yet, the virtual exhibition will also be offered in some historical palaces of Tehran.

The commission has so far received a large number of works from world countries, which are of much diversified nature, reflecting many different cultures and civilizations.

The UNESCO official said that the enthusiasm of the world calligraphists for attending the event has been beyond the expectations of its sponsor, Iranian National UNESCO Commission.
