‘I’m not Alice’ wins award in Australia

Iranian animation ‘I’m not Alice but here is Wonderland’ has grabbed the Harry Julius Animation Award at the 2020 edition of the Veterans Film Festival (VFF) in Australia.

Directed by Mahdieh-Sadat Ahmadi-Soleimani, the animation narrates the story of a girl who is struggling with the problems of her time.

Finally, she surrenders herself to the birds that she had painted.

The animation has been named among the silver winners in the Best Short – Animation at the 3rd quarter of the 2020 season of the Queen Palm International Film Festival in the US.

The VFF provides a space for filmmakers to showcase their works and connect to the professionals of film industry.

As stated on the festival’s official website, “it is an annual event dedicated to putting the spotlight on recent work by veterans and filmmakers who explore diverse perspectives on conflict and veterans’ themes”.

The 2020 edition of the event was held on November 30-December 31.
