Iranian ‘The Rotation’ to vie in the US

Iranian short animation ‘The Rotation’ has been selected to compete at the 15th edition of the Jacksonville Film Festival (JFF) in the US.

Directed and produced by Hazhir Asadi, the 7-minute animation shows two tribes that engage in a tug-of-war to possess the sun and moon.

Neither side can defeat the other. Their conflict wreaks havoc on the earth’s climate.

An eventual ceasefire brings temporary stability and harmony until unexpected events renew the cycle of conflict and destruction.

It is a film about the futility of war and the folly of human efforts to dominate nature.

The short animation has so far gone on screen at a number of global events, including the Animasyros Festival in Greece and the Girona Film Festival in Spain.

Founded in 2002, the mission of the JFF is to celebrate motion pictures by discovering and showcasing new talents to rejuvenate the film industry by creating an atmosphere that immerses the filmmakers with their audience and community.

The festival is an opportunity for filmmakers to be recognized for their cinematic achievements while creating an event to reward the best works submitted to the festival.

The 15th edition of the event is slated for February 5-10, 2021.
