Iranian ‘Horn’ to vie at Jacksonville

The 15th edition of the Jacksonville Film Festival (JFF) in the US has been set to screen Iranian short flick ‘Horn’.

Qasideh Golmakani’s short film is among the 36 works to compete at the Short Narrative section of the US event.

‘Horn’ is about a woman who must arrive at a business meeting on time. To do so, she must find a parking slot as soon as possible.

When she finally finds one, there are some men on the street that disturb and steal her concentration. The woman, however, finds a way to confront them.

Shiva Ebrahimi, Darioush Ashrafi, Alireza Sanifar, Mahmoud Kashani, Akbar Yazdi, and Mehrdad Hamrahi are among the cast members of the flick.

‘Horn’ has already been shown at a number of global events, including the Cine Invisible (Festival International Film Sozialak 2020 Bilbao) in Spain and the 20minmax International Short Film Festival in Germany.

Founded in 2002, the mission of the JFF is to celebrate motion pictures by discovering and showcasing new talents to rejuvenate the film industry by creating an atmosphere that immerses the filmmakers with their audience and community.

The festival is an opportunity for filmmakers to be recognized for their cinematic achievements while creating an event to reward the best works submitted to the festival.

The 15th edition of the event is slated for February 5-10, 2021.
