Farhadi flick, most anticipated 2021 films

Upcoming film ‘A Hero’ by Iranian auteur Asghar Farhadi has been placed among the most anticipated foreign films of 2021.

IONCINEMA, a well-reputed US media outlet featuring film news, selected Iranian Oscar-winner Farhadi’s new flick ‘A Hero’ among the top 50 films with high hopes to capture the audience's attention across the globe in 2021.

Plot details for the flick are being kept under wraps with the director of ‘The Salesman’ and ‘A Separation’ returning to Iran for making his next flick in Persian, his native language. This marks a new shift after Cannes opener 'Everybody Knows' with Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem.

Producers are Farhadi and regular collaborator Alexandre Mallet-Guy of Memento Films Production, which has made Farhadi’s last three films. Memento Films Distribution will release the film in France.

The shooting stage for the flick came to an end in December after 75 sessions allocated to filming Farhadi’s  ‘A Hero’.

The filming locations were mostly in and around the Iranian city of Shiraz.

The stars appeared in the flick along with a string of nonprofessional actors before Farhadi's camera.

Farhadi with two Oscars under his belt for ‘A Separation’ and ‘The Salesman' knows the secret to making a good film for local and international audiences.  His new flick in development has high hopes of gaining one more Oscar.
