Iran’s film wins award at Indian fest

Iranian short film ‘A Place among Cows’ has grabbed an award at the 4th edition of the LIFFT India Filmostav-World Cine Fest in India.

Written and directed by Mohammad-Ali Hosseini and Hossein Fallahabadi, the 14-minute short film has been picked as the recipient of the Best Original Screenplay award of the Indian event.

‘A Place Among Cows’ is the story of Reza, a swindler who means to liquefy a ranch and flee through the border. On his personal pursuit, Reza’s lawyer, Mehran, is there to help reach the deal using a farm worker. However, some unexpected things will surprise the men.

Farid Sajjadi-Hosseini, Alireza Mehran, Vahid Nafar, Amir Shah-Ali and Faeqeh Shalalvand are the cast members of the flick.  

The LIFFT India Filmotsav is a green event preserving the nature by keeping everything digital and avoiding paper use.

At the same time, the fest aims to “spread awareness about the menace of Dengue and Malaria along with other airborne disease that result from poor waste management and lack of basic cleanliness in parts of Lonavla that needs immediate attention”, according to the official website of the fest.

The award ceremony for the 2020 edition of the fest was held on December 25.
