IFFI to screen Ramin Rasouli’s film

Iranian-Afghan feature ‘The Dogs Didn’t Sleep Last Night’ directed by Ramin Rasouli has been set to go on screen at the 51st edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

‘The Dogs Didn’t Sleep Last Night’ is one of the 15 acclaimed films, including Iran’s ‘Dream of Sohrab’, which will compete for the Golden Peacock award at the IFFI’s International Competition section.

“Life in a remote Taliban-held village in Afghanistan changes upon the arrival of an American soldier whose helicopter has crashed near the village and who is brought there by one of the villagers,” a synopsis for the film reads.

The IFFI reportedly aims at providing a common platform for the cinemas of the world to project the excellence of the film art.

The 51st edition of the IFFI, India’s biggest festival, will be held in Goa on January 16-24, 2021.
