Bangladesh to show ‘Ocean Behind Window’

The 2021 edition of the International Children’s Film Festival Bangladesh has been scheduled to screen Iranian feature ‘The Ocean Behind the Window’.

Directed by Babak Nabizadeh, the film narrates the story of a teenage boy on a remote island. He tries to promote the island’s tourism and attract tourists.

An unexpected problem arises while life on the island is improving by increasing the number of tourists.

The cast of the film includes Hadiseh Karami, Mohammad Azadi, Mehran Mozaffari, Jafar Qasemi, Hassan Zakeri, Bahram Komijani, Amir Qavidel, Yousef Ranjbar, Qolam Ranjbar, and Mohammad Salimi.

Nabizadeh’s film participated in Isfahan’s 32nd International Film Festival for Children and Youth and won the diploma of honor for the best actor and the main award of UNICEF.

Now competing at the 19th edition of the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh, it has also taken part in a number of global events, including the Zlin Film Festival in the Czech Republic, the San Francisco Iranian Film Festival in the US, and the International Children’s Film Festival - Cinekid in the Netherlands.

The International Children’s Film Festival Bangladesh is an annual week-long film festival held countrywide, which showcases full-length features, shorts, experimental films made for and by children from around the world.

Launched in 2008, the festival is one of the biggest film events in Bangladesh and also the only international film festival for children and young adults of the country.

The 2021 edition of the event is slated for January 30-February 5.
