Directed by Lida Fazli, the 9-minute short animation will be showcased at the Competitive section of the fest’s 14th edition, which is organized by Children's Film Society Bangladesh.
‘This Side, Other Side’ has mission of peace seeking and disregard for war have.
The short title shows how the children of two opposite sides of a border cherish each other’s company, regardless of the fact that their countries are burning in the fire of a war that the adults have brought upon them.
The film has already been screened at various global events, including the Animage Int’l film festival in Brazil, the Smile Int’l Film Festival for Children & Youth in India, the ifva Awards in China and the Termeh Iranian Cultural Festival in Germany.
The International Children’s Film Festival Bangladesh is an annual week-long film festival held countrywide, which showcases full-length features, shorts, experimental films made for and by children from around the world.
Launched in 2008, the festival is one of the biggest film events in Bangladesh and also the only international film festival for children and young adults of the country.
The 2021 edition of the event is slated for January 30-February 5.
