The 1st Silk Road International Calligraphy Exhibition and Conference dubbed “Pen Dance” opened in Mashahad on Wednesday, with artists from about 30 countries attending the event.
The event is organized by the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO
Hojattollah Ayoubi, the Secretary-General of Iranian National Commission for UNESCO, has said that 655 works made by artists from across the world will be displayed in the week-long event, which is taking place online and in-person.
He has noted that a selection of works will also be exhibited in Tehran on January 24-27.
Ayoubi described it as “a unique and historical event”.
