‘The Eleventh Step’ to go to Bangladesh

Iranian animation ‘The Eleventh Step’ has been scheduled to take part in the 2021 edition of the International Children’s Film Festival in Bangladesh.

Maryam Kashkoulinia’s 11-minute animated piece will be among the titles to go on screen at the Competitive category of the International Film Section at the 14th edition of the Bangladeshi event.

‘The Eleventh Step’, which themes on freedom and captivity, is inspired by a book with the same title written by Sousan Taqdis. It is an attempt to persuade children to try more to achieve better results.

Although the animation targets 7-12 year-old children, the director believes that it has a lesson for the adults too.

‘The Eleventh Step’ has already participated in the 60th Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France, the 60th Zlin Film Festival in the Czech Republic, the 10th Supertoon International Animation Festival in Croatia, and the 16th Korea Independent Animation Film Festival (Indie-AniFest) in South Korea.

The International Children’s Film Festival Bangladesh is an annual week-long film festival held countrywide, which showcases full-length features, shorts, experimental films made for and by children from around the world.

Launched in 2008, the festival is one of the biggest film events in Bangladesh and also the only international film festival for children and young adults of the country.

The 2021 edition of the event is slated for January 30-February 5.
