Iran film to screen in US

Acclaimed Iranian children’s flick ‘Knock Out’ is set to participate in the WACO Family & Faith International Film Festival in the US.

The second edition of the American fest will be an arena for Amir Mashhadi-Abbas’s film to compete at.

‘Konck Out’ is the story of three teenagers, each striving to become a champion of a reputable cup; although “the champion is not necessarily always the one who wins.”

The feature was premiered at the 31st edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Iran, winning three awards including Best Youth Film.

Ever since, it has been screened at various global events, including the Giffoni International Film Festival in Italy and the China International Children’s Film Festival.

Nasim Adabi, Afshin Hashemi, Nazanin Ahmadi, Sirous Hemmati, Majid Norouzi, Dorsa Bakhtiar, Sepehrad Farzami, Siavash Assadpour, and Hossein Lotfi are among the film’s cast.

‘Knock Out’ is a joint production of Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults and Farabi Cinema Foundation.

Simaye Mehr Art & Culture Institute is in charge of the film’s distribution.

As stated on the official website of the event, the WACO Family & Faith International Film Festival’s mission is “dedicated to empowering the creative spirit, serving with heart and celebrating all”.

The 2021 edition of the fest is slated for February 4-6.
