Directed by Mehrshad Ranjbar, the short flick of no dialogues will be showcased at the 30th edition of the Spanish fest.
‘Talker’ is the story of an elderly woman who has taken care of her aged husband until an unexpected event disrupts her life.
Ranjbar has told to the media that what inspired him to make this film was a real story of an old village woman whose only belonging was a sheep which was killed and given away as votive food once. When the woman learns that her only herd was gone, she cries her eyes out.
Maryam Nourafkan and Abbas Jalallou are the cast members of the flick.
The film has already taken part at a number of film events and grabbed awards, including the best student film at the Tirana Int’l filmfest in Albania and the best short feature at the Faludi Int’l filmfest in Hungary.
The MCIP welcomes international films from around the world and provides filmmakers with a chance to showcase their works.
The 30th edition of the event, to be held online and in person, is slated for February 26-March 6, 2021.
