Iran’s ‘Forty Seven’ to vie in Canada

Iranian film ‘Forty Seven’ has been selected to compete at the 7th edition of the Gbeck Future Film Festival (GBECKFF) in Canada.

Co-directed by Ahmad Otraqchi and Alireza Ataollah-Tabrizi, the film narrates the story of the race of life where three women from different walks of life pass several challenges and all reach one single spot after many ups and downs.

Ladan Mostofi, Mahdi Ahmadi, Sheida Khaligh, Rabe'e Madani, Rima Raminfar, Hamidreza Azarang, Shaghayegh Farahani and Mohamadreza Ghaffari star in the film.

The movie has participated in a number of film festivals including the 2020 Lifft India Filmotsav and the 12th Sofia MENAR Film Festival.

According to GBECKFF website, “It is a competition of original films created by filmmakers from around the world, designed to discover and support young filmmakers. The short list for the 7th GbeckFF will be released in February 2021, and the winners will be announced in April. The 2021 Gbeck Future Film Screening will be presented in April in Prince Edward Island”.

The festival has previously hosted great filmmakers and excellent films from around the world.
