‘The Snail’ on screen at Waco Family & Faith Int’l Film Festival

The 2021 Waco Family and Faith International Film Festival, which has opened today at the Hippodrome Theatre in Waco, Texas, is playing host to Iranian feature ‘The Snail’.

Running through February 6, the 2nd annual Waco fest has on screen Mohammad Torivarian’s ‘The Snail’ about two strangers who run into each other in a metro station.

The two are an obese man who is looking for a job and a girl who is deaf and has a strange story in her life. This simple encounter in the subway changes the lives of both of them.    

Azita Hosseini, Babak Kazemian-Moqaddam, Hossein Mehrpeyma, and Afshin Maleki are among the cast.

‘The Snail’ is the recipient of the Best Foreign Short award at the 2019 CINEVERSATIL Film Festival in Argentina and a Special Mention at the 14th Int’l Oriental Film Festival of Geneva in Switzerland.  

The flick was previously screened at the 3rd Beloit Int’l Film Festival in the US, the 2019 Unknown Film Festival (UFF) in Russia and the 14th Int’l Oriental Film Festival of Geneva (FIFOG) in Switzerland.

Douch’ by Amir Mashhadi-Abbas, Seyed Morteza Sabzeghaba’s ‘For Him’, Amir Mashhadi-Abbas’s ‘Knock Out’ and 'Lottery' by Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian are also among the Iranian participants at the festival.

The Waco Family & Faith International Film Festival is "dedicated to empowering the creative spirit and celebrating the compassion for humanity”.
