Iranians hold mass rallies each year to mark the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, but this year they paraded in vehicles to maintain social distance amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Cars, motorcycles and bicycles moved through the streets of Tehran and other cities across the country on Wednesday to mark the event.
Participants carried photos of Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and Iran’s top anti-terror commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, who was assassinated by the US in 2020.
