US fest to screen Iran’s ‘The 11th Step’

Iranian animation ‘The 11th Step’ has been selected to go on screen at the 12th edition of the Providence Children’s Film Festival (PCFF) in the US.

Maryam Kashkoulinia, the director of ‘The 11th Step’, was inspired by a book with the same name written by Sousan Taqdis while making the animation.

Although the animation targets 7-12 year-old children, the director believes that it has a lesson for the adults too.

‘The 11th Step’ focuses on the themes of freedom and captivity.

The animation indirectly persuades children to try more.

Watching the animation, the child learns he can gain marvelous results by taking one more step forward.

‘The 11th Step’ has already participated in the 60th Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France, the 60th Zlin Film Festival in the Czech Republic, the 10th Supertoon International Animation Festival in Croatia, and the 16th Korea Independent Animation Film Festival (Indie-AniFest) in South Korea.

Presenting the best independent works of children’s cinema, the PCFF connects children and families from various communities.

Due to the situation caused by coronavirus, the event will be held online on February 12-21, 2021.
