Iranian ‘The Doll’ to vie at the US fest

Iranian film ‘The Doll’ has been selected to compete at the 15th edition of the Taos Shortz Film Festival in the US.

Directed and written by Nasrin Gol-Reyhan, the short film tells the story of a rescue in the war-torn Syrian city of Aleppo.

In the flick, produced by Hossein Shahabi, a female reporter finds a little girl in the war-torn city and tries to save her life.

Rezvan Beheshtian, Sahar Abdollahi, Mohammad-Javad Asadi, and Nabiollah Minaee are the main cast members of the flick.

The feature has already participated in the 2021 edition of the Cefalù Film Festival in Italy and the 2021 California Independent Film Festival.

Other Iranian films to participate in the Taos Shortz festival are ‘The Grand daughter’ by Mohsen Habibi and Mostafa Daryadar, ‘SFUMATO’ by Amir-Ali Mirderikvand, ‘Haunt’ by Siamak Kashef-Azar, ‘Inner Self’ by Mohammad Hormozi and  ‘Even an Hour Later’ by Seyyed-Parviz Shojaee.

According to the website of the Taos Shortz, “After a long uncertain COVID year, Taos Shortz Film Fest, the longest continually running film festival in New Mexico returns with a whole new selection of Global Short Films”.

The 15th edition of the event will be held on March 19-21, 2021.
