Directed by Baran Sarmad, the 12-minute film has been selected to compete at the 14th edition of the Scottish event.
The short film is about Roya, a girl who has a yellow spot on her face. One day she feels the signs of a real giraffe within and her life starts to change gradually.
A tagline for ‘Spotted Yellow’ reads, “She sees her spots. She hears her voice and she feels her”.
According to Sarmad, the director of the flick, it is about a girl who has a dream and does whatever it takes to achieve the longing.
Shadi Karamroudi is the only actress of the flick.
The film has already been shown at several global events, including the Tehran International Film Festival, where it won an award.
It has also gone on screen at the Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland, the Chicago International Film Festival in the US, and the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia.
The Glasgow Short Film Festival accepts films of various genres such as fiction, documentary, animation and films that defy the conventional narrative form.
This year’s edition of the fest is slated for March 22-28.
