Docudays UA to screen Iran’s ‘Asak’

Iranian documentary ‘Asak’ has made its way to the 18th Docudays UA International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival in Ukraine.

‘Asak’, which means a stone hand mill in Persian, will be screened at the 18th edition of the Docudays UA which will kick off next month.

Directed by Mehdi Zamanpour-Kiasari, the documentary is about an 80-year-old blind man, who earns his own living from manufacturing handicrafts from stones he picks from the mountains.

Earlier reports said the documentary will also compete at the 15th edition of the Ethnocineca - International Documentary Film Festival Vienna in Austria.

‘Asak’ received the best film award at the 20th International Golden Saffron Documentary Film Festival in Turkey.

The 18th Docudays UA International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival will open on March 26 and run until April 4.
