Iran ‘The Spit’ to vie at Latvian fest

Iranian short flick ‘The Spit’ has been set to go on screen at the Riga International Short Film Festival (RISFF) in Latvia.

The film, co-directed by Emad Emaminia and Armin Rahimian, will be among the competition titles at the 25th edition of the Latvian event.

The short film is about a little boy who finds a mechanism to deal with all the social violence issues.

Rahimian, who is also an actor in ifilm movie ‘When the Moon Was Full’, said ‘The Spit’ is an independent short and not part of another feature film. The whole story begins and wraps up within the 7.5 minute limit of the flick.

Sam Valipour is the only cast member of the flick, which was first shown at the Tehran International Short Film Festival in Iran.

According to the official website of the RISFF, it is the oldest short film event in the Baltic states.

The event aims to introduce modern ways of visual communication from around the globe.

This year’s edition of the fest is slated for April 9-15.
