Narges Abyar’s award-winning movie inaugurated the event dedicated to honoring the International Women's Day.
The event kicked off on March 5 and will continue until March 17, 2021, screening films made by female cineastes from around the world.
The ceremony was held in the presence of Narges Abyar and officials from Iran, Uruguay, Chile, Mexico and Argentina.
‘Track 143’ is a screen adaptation of Abyar’s novel titled ‘The Third Eye’ that narrates the story of a woman during Iran’s sacred defense.
The movie brings up a major topic that many other part of the world do not pair with when they talk about the wars in their history; the contribution and strength of the mothers of those who fought. Click here to read more about the film's synopsis.
‘Track 143’ was premiered at Iran’s 2014 Fajr International Film Festival and garnered rave reviews by critics and audience.
The well-received movie also bagged both the Crystal Simorgh for Audience Favorite Film at Fajr Film Festival and the event’s Best Actress Award that was presented to the film’s leading role actress Merila Zarei.
Included in the cast list are Mohammad-Javad Ezzati, Mehran Ahmadi and Gelareh Abbasi.
